Wikipedia
Tanoan language
Tanoan , also Kiowa–Tanoan or Tanoan–Kiowa, is a family of languages spoken by indigenous peoples in present-day New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Most of the languages – Tiwa (Taos, Picuris, Southern Tiwa), Tewa, and Towa – are spoken in the Native American Pueblos of New Mexico (with one outlier in Arizona). These were the first languages collectively given the name of Tanoan. Kiowa, which is a related language, is now spoken mostly in southwestern Oklahoma. The Kiowa historically inhabited areas of modern-day Texas and Oklahoma.

tanoan language
Tanoan language refers to a group of closely related Native American languages spoken by the Pueblo peoples in New Mexico and Arizona. The four main languages in the Tanoan family are: Tiwa (Northern and Southern), Tewa, and Towa. These languages share similar vocabulary and grammatical structures. Despite their similarities, they are not mutually intelligible, meaning a speaker of one cannot necessarily understand a speaker of another. Some of these languages are endangered or extinct, with efforts being made to revive them.
