Podocarpus spicata, also known as the mountain totara, is a species of conifers in the family Podocarpaceae. It is native to New Zealand where it is typically found in high altitude areas. This evergreen tree typically grows up to 15 meters tall with a trunk of 30 cm in diameter, but can also assume a shrub-like growth form in certain conditions such as high altitudes or continual exposure to high winds. Its leaves are linear to sickle-shaped, and its seeds are enclosed in a fleshy structure called an aril.
