Origin: Coined for the movie character Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Master in the Star Wars films, introduced in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi is a main fictional character in the Star Wars universe. As a Jedi Knight, he is the one who initiates Anakin Skywalker to the Jedi arts and serves as his mentor and father model. He also discovers some of the main plots of the saga which drove to the Clone War. He is portrayed by Sir Alec Guinness in the original trilogy, and by Ewan McGregor in the prequel trilogy, and voiced by James Arnold Taylor in various other Star Wars projects.
