    Ōno is a city located in Fukui Prefecture, Japan. As of June 1, 2011, the city has an estimated population of 36,890 with 12,016 households and the density of 42.29 persons per km². The total area is 872.30 km². The town is encircled by a ring of mountains and the only way in or out is via tunnels or mountain roads. The city was founded on July 1, 1954. On November 7, 2005 the village of Izumi was merged into Ōno.
