MetraTech
MetraTech Corp. has established itself as a thought leader and a true innovator with its approach to billing, customer self-care, and partner management. In 1995, prior to founding MetraTech, what became its core team concluded that billing and partner management were the primary bottlenecks preventing their own and many other companies from launching new value-added services and innovative business models. After taking a close look at the then available billing protocols and methodologies, the team realized that existing technologies and approaches did not provide the market with enough agility. The team thus decided to create a radical, new approach. They set the design bar high: to develop a protocol that would enable services with completely different data profiles and business models to be defined on-the-fly and without coding. As communications markets have developed, driven in new directions by forces including deregulation and network evolution, service offerings have rapidly diversified. In order to succeed in the resulting new landscape; to win new and retain existing customers, service providers face new and ever more complex demands on their infrastructures. These are difficult to meet if doing so means relying on monolithic solutions fundamentally designed to address the requirements of the past but not the present or the future. Yet in spite of acknowledging this reality, for many the answer has nevertheless been to bolt additional functionality on to already outdated legacy systems. Doing so is a slow and expensive process which does little to address underlying limitations and furthermore simply applies a plaster to a bigger problem. At best, the inevitable is delayed. A more sensible answer demands the application of Applied Imagination. MetraTech Corp’s MetraNet solution for billing, customer self-care, and partner management does this and in so doing empowers next generation companies to benefit from dynamic business modeling. This allows them to invent new models and enhance collaboration between IT, business groups and subscribers. As a result, MetraNet deployments are winning an increasing number of significant industry awards as leading service providers turn to us to transform new opportunities into profits.
