Filby
Filby is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 5.80 km2 (2.24 sq mi) and had a population of 740 in 308 households at the 2001 census, the population increasing to 765 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of Great Yarmouth. It derives its name from the Viking File the Dane, who settled in the area around AD 800. The village is situated on the shores of Filby Broad and Ormesby Little Broad, in the Broads National Park, some 9 km (6 mi) north-west of the town of Great Yarmouth and 25 km (16 mi) east of the city of Norwich.In 2002, Filby won the village category of the Britain in Bloom competition.Filby Heath is located south of the A1064 road to the east of Filby. It is a cluster of cottages and historical buildings.
