  1. Blank Canvas

Blank Canvas are an alternative indie band from Edinburgh, Scotland. While the band themselves describe their music as "ambient punk" or "prog punk", others have compared them to the likes of Deerhunter and TV on the Radio. The band first came to attention in early 2010 with their EP 'Veins' gaining acclaim and national radio play. Since, they have supported bands like Little Comets, Housse de Racket and Pete and the Pirates. Their latest double single 'By the Fire / Golden' has earned them further acclaim and support slots with Friends Electric and The Twilight Sad. On the marked difference in sound between 'Veins' and 'By the Fire / Golden', the band said "because Veins was written and recorded so long ago, we’ve had time to develop our sound. The years in between have meant we’re more comfortable with the way we write songs, a lot of which is happy accidents".
