It began as a way of remembering important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. 1. Black History Month

   Definition of black history month is: A month recognized by most as a time to celebrate black history. The month itself, however is a perfect example of racial discrimination and how it has become acceptable in the USA. The origin of the month was to celebrate the accomplishments of blacks that contributed to our history. Since then the accomplishments of blacks have been taught in "American History" classes along with the rest of our nation's history. The month continues regardless of the racism involved, the racial discrimination and the lack of good reason for it to exist in today's world.

   Black history month only celebrates the accomplishments of some people because they are black. This is racial discrimination.
